Welcome to our blog!

Hello Pupscribers!

First and foremost we couldn’t be happier to be writing this right now. This blog means that we are officially in business! What started as a nagging idea in the back of our minds—that maybe we could take our love of dogs and do something really special with it—turned into a series of days, weeks, and months filled with research, planning, creating, scrapping ideas, more research, long days, more research, lots of phone calls and emails, long nights, scrapping a few more ideas, a little more research, a little more creating… you get the idea. And finally this month we launched our website and sent out our very first boxes!

Backtracking a little, let us explain what we’re all about. Being dog lovers we wanted to do something cool to bring that love to you, as well as bring other dog lovers across Canada together too. All of our research helped us find some amazing businesses across Canada and the US, both large and small, that have products that we (and our pooches) love. Our pups have worked really hard to find treats that work for dogs of all shapes and sizes and things for those pups out there that might be a bit more sensitive as well. Each month we choose five or six of these products, package them up with a note from our team and ship them out to you, our pupscribers. Boxes for small, medium, and large dogs will all be a little different, and each month the products will be different as well.

We had so much fun putting together this month’s box. Yes it was our first box, but we really can’t imagine it ever losing its excitement. In case you missed this month these are the awesome products that we sent out:

–       Chicken Liver Snaps from The Barkery in Stratford, ON (www.thebarkery.ca)

–       A Megalast toy from JW Pets in Texas, USA (www.jwpet.com)

–       An organic Peas & Carrot Big Bone from Wet Noses, Washington, USA (www.wet- noses.com)

–       Crispy Bacon and Apple treats from Fruitables in Texas, USA (www.fruitablespetfood.com)

–       Biodegradable waste bags from This and That Canine Co. in Toronto, ON (www.thisandthatcanineco.com)

–       Nose and Paw Balm from Rescue Pet Products in Ohio, USA (http://www.etsy.com/shop/RESCUEPetProducts)

–       A Denta Snack from 1st Choice Nutrtion, Boucherville, Quebec (www.1stchoice.ca)

We know that we love these products, but if you subscribed to this month’s box, we want to see how much you loved them. You can let us know on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. Tag us in your posts and keep the doggy pics coming!

You would think that launching our first box would be enough, but not for us! This first month had more in store… Part of our mission here at Bowzer Box is to give 10% of our profits to dogs in need. This month, for our very first donation, that meant partnering with the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society (www.kwhumane.com). We liked the idea of starting in our own backyard so for the month of March every dog that is adopted from the KW Humane Society will receive his or her very own Bowzer Box. Check out our Facebook to see Ricky and Frederick accepting the boxes on behalf of the KW pack!

To top that off we finished up the month at the Toronto National Home Show & Canada Blooms (www.nationalhomeshow.com). Yet another, first for us, we picked a big one for our very first trade show. We had a great time at the show and were overwhelmed with the pawsitive responses we got; it warmed our hearts in this crazy cold.

Aside from the weather this month, we couldn’t have asked for a better launch, and we are looking forward to pawsome things ahead! We are “Spring”ing into planning our April box and getting ready for the All About Pet Show in Mississauga(www.allaboutpetsshow.com), and although we are all a little tired from the whirlwind that the last eight months or so have been, we couldn’t be more excited to keep going!

Thanks for reading, and welcome to the pack! Bark at you again soon,
